Piporé – Yerba Mate 500 g
Piporé Yerba Mate, is the most important product in the south of Patagonia. In 1934, when the first Swiss immigrants arrived in this region, a cooperative was founded to develop the yerba mate produced in this area. Located in the city of Santo Pipó, 80 km from Posadas, the capital of Misiones province, Argentina. In guaraní ‘PI’ means foot, ‘PO’ means hands and ‘RE’ means footprints. Together they form the word Piporé. The word means that according to legend, the chief Santos made an indelible impression on the banks of the river with the prints of his hands and feet. As a result, he was baptized by the Jesuits with the name Santo PIPO.
Yerba mate Piporé is a traditional yerba mate stored for about 12 months with a low percentage of sticks and has a strong flavor.
